Here-There-Then-Now

The viewer enters a room filled with the sound of a cyclical ebb and flow of breath and lapping water. At a distance stands an intermittently-lit Plexiglas pillar. The scent of pine tar transcends upon approach to the pillar. The viewer steps onto a slightly unstable wooden platform and looks down into a wooden box (an old portable writing desk) placed upon the pillar. The bottom of the box is removed so that the viewer looks beyond it, to see a video projection of rippling waves.
